How customer reviews work
Learn who can review, when links expire, and how ratings are calculated.
Customers can review a business only through a review link MyExpertPros sends. A search result does not have a button for posting a review.
Review-link rules
- A link is tied to one paid invoice or one awarded project request.
- Each invoice or awarded request can receive one public review.
- The link lasts 180 days and cannot be reused.
- An awarded project sends its review link seven days after the customer selects the pro, or when that job is marked complete.
- A business can turn on a review-request text. It sends when the invoice is paid in full and, if the invoice is tied to a job, that job is marked complete.
The page asks how the service went. A poor experience can be sent privately to the business and is not published. A public review stays available on the same page. When the business has a Google listing, that public review opens Google. Otherwise it is a MyExpertPros review.
Choose 1 to 5 stars on a MyExpertPros review. Written comments are optional and can be up to 2,000 characters. A ready review is published and tied to the job; a directory plan cannot buy a star rating.
Staff can hide or restore a published review. Hidden reviews come out of the public rating. A business with paid directory access can reply to a published review with up to 1,000 characters.
